August: See ya, don't let the door hit ya...

I've always been very upfront about my feelings for the month of August. Oh sure, it's all fun and games at first, because it still feels like summer and we always do something fun for Matt's birthday. But, August 15th inevitably rolls around and you suddenly feel trapped in the suffocating heat of end-of-summer blues. Back to school commercials are in full swing, the days get shorter, and your beach vacation feels like it happened a million years ago (when barely a month has passed).

I think we can all agree--August is a mess.

Luckily, my friends, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Labor Dabor is almost here, which means we can FINALLY start fall! The weather may still feel like summer, but I don't care--I'm throwin on my Tory Burch boots, wrappin a scarf around my neck, and ordering all the pumpkin spice lattes my body can handle. Fall, bring it on.

In honor of this magnificent season, and in honor of Confessional Friday, it's time I tell you the many reasons why Fall holds my heart.
Linking up with A Blonde Ambition.

1. Hokie football
Making the Miley face before it was cool.
2. Sweet, sweet Virginia--"You think that autumns in New England, are the greatest of them all, but give me sweet Virginia for the fireworks of fall." --Eddie from Ohio

3. Perfect weather

4. Pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING (and pumpkin scented Yankee Candles)

5. Halloween--love anything that involves festively wrapped chocolates and a reason to watch Hocus Pocus.
6. Hoodie weather--I can actually wear my sweats outside without sweating to death (haha--sweating in sweats!)

7. Pants weather--I don't have to shave my legs as often (don't laugh ladies, I know you were all thinking it)

9. The onset of the holiday season

Don't be fooled by this look. I'm quite pleased to be at the Christmas tree farm.
10. Nostalgia
This last one is probably the most important, so it gets its own paragraph. Yes, I can get rolled over by nostalgia during any season, but for some reason during fall it becomes overwhelming. I get one whiff of that crisp, fall air and memories come rushing back. I'm watching tv and eating dinner at my granny's house with my brother as the day fades into grey; I'm taking a hot bubble bath and reading a book; it's football season in high school and we're all trying to stay warm in our color guard uniforms; wet leaves scatter the ground and I'm walking across the drillfield as the sun sinks slowly behind the duck pond. See what I mean? Sometimes, I can't even handle all of the memories that fall brings, but I can't help but love it.

Have a happy weekend friends! What are the things you love most about fall?
