Just Another Music Monday, V.6

Ya'll get ready--it's time for some serious pre-orders on iTunes. I don't know how it happened, but the music gods decided that late summer/early fall was THE time for new album releases. While my checking account is note okay with that, my heart is just full over the excitement of new music, and I'm pretty sure once those downloads hit my account my head is just going to explode.

First, let's hear it for the ladies of Haim--they are a group of sisters out of LA and they are getting ready to release their first full length album on September 30th. Their sound reminds me a lot of Stevie Nicks and other ladies from the 80s; however, it doesn't have an overly retro feel to it, and I could seriously listen to them all day.
Remember the very first Music Monday? I threw a little song on your playlist called "Pompeii" and that has basically been my jam this summer. (Are the kids still using that phrase, "my jam?" I'm bringin it back.) It's performed by Bastille, and their album "Bad Blood" is going to be released on September 3rd...September 3rd, people!! That is basically like a week away! This ENTIRE month is going to feel like Christmas!

Next up is CHVRCHES (pronounced as "churches," duh). They have kind of a different sound, often described as "electro-pop." Normally, I stay away from electronic heavy music, but this is definitely got enough pop in it to be appealing to the masses. Give them a listen on today's playlist and sign up for that pre-order--the full length album, "The Bones of What You Believe," will be out September 24th.

Oh, and remember my sudden obsession of "All I want," by Kodaline? Well, "In a Perfect World" is about to hit the States--you can pre-order it on iTunes beginning September 10th.

A solid favorite of mine from the past few years, The Naked and Famous, is getting ready to release their second full length on September 17th. I absolutely loved their first, "Passive Me, Aggressive You," and "In Rolling Waves" is promising to be just as awesome--I'm already loving "Hearts Like Ours" which has been playing on the radio lately.

Last but not least, I have one word for you: Cher. Yes, Cher is still making music, and infusing as much diva into it as ever. Allegedly, she's gearing up for another world tour with Bob Mackie designing her clothes (because who else could dress Cher?). If having a strange love for Cher and her powerhouse vocals is wrong, then I don't want to be right! Get ready for her next album, which will be available for download on September 24th.
Every true Cher fan knows EXACTLY which song she is singing in this outfit.
So that's that, dear readers. September is going to be a great month for music releases, I tell you what! I just might cry over the beauty of it all.

For now, here's a little sampling of all of these artists, to hold you over until D-Day (Download Day).
