Just Another Music Monday, V.7

There is something about fall weather that hits me with nostalgia unlike any other season. Add to that a certain soundtrack to fall and I am literally drowning in the memories.

For some reason, many of my strongest fall memories are triggered by certain songs. Maybe it's because the lyrics resonated with me at poignant moments, are maybe it's just because I listened to these songs over and over on my ipod (I'll just tell you the answer--it's both).

Fall reminds me of college, but I think it mostly reminds me of those first few years after college, when I was trying to figure out how to be adult and what I was doing with my life (unsuccessfully, I might add).
Fall, circa 2009. As you can see, I spent a lot of time pondering the meaning of life.
Essentially, this season (and the playlist below) remind me of being so proud of myself for living on my own in a new town, yet at times still feeling incredibly alone. It reminds me of old friendships falling to pieces, but building new ones that were even stronger. It reminds me of finally saying goodbye to Blacksburg and accepting that chapter was closed. Fall was always a time for change for me, both good and bad, but I am still amazed at how all that chaos and change made me the person I am today, and how it led me to the love of my life (and the puppy daughter of my life).

New friendships
New love
That, my friends, is why I love fall.
