Hello all! It's been a hot minute since I've checked in. Our life has been so full lately--here are all the hot happenings:
- As I mentioned in one of my last posts, I quit my job as a 4-H Agent to stay home with Aida. Although there are times when I miss some of my co-workers and volunteers, I really don't miss the job itself. There have certainly been tough moments in motherhood but I don't regret my decision one bit.
- The key to keeping sane is to make sure I get out of the house at least once a day. Otherwise, I get too in my head about all the housework that needs to get done and I get really prickly and cranky. Our activities include grocery shopping, mall walking, coffee dates, pool dates, swim classes, meet ups with our Mommy and Me group, winery outings (occasionally), and visiting family members (including bringing lunch to daddy some days!). We try to keep things cheap since we're down to one salary, but every now and then we'll treat ourselves (well, I'll treat myself) to a lunch out or a winery trip.
- I've really been working on trying to get back in shape. Number wise, I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I definitely feel like my hips are bigger and there's still quite a bit left that's just hanging out, keepin it real, in my mid section. I've been doing Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred and I absolutely love it. It's a quick workout (20 minutes), so I can do it while Aida just hangs out in her Dock a Tot. I'm about halfway through, and I've definitely noticed a little difference.
So as you can see, we really do keep busy around here! It's tough to find time for blogging because there is always something else that needs to be done. I've been thinking a lot lately about what I want to do with my blog. I definitely love blogging, but right now it's just so hard to keep up with it all--writing posts, editing pictures, scheduling social media, connecting with others blogs, etc. If nothing else, I'll keep plodding along and posting when I can, because I know several family members and friends who love the updates. However, at this point, I know I'm not going to be one of those bloggers who "take it to the next level" and "get paid to blog!" Sure, that would be nice, but that would be an added stress--right now, I just want to be in this moment, enjoying all the time I have with our little family.
