Hello and happy Friday! Isn't that just the corniest post title you've ever read?! I'm quite proud of it. Here I am, trying to crank out another blog post. We'll see how long I can keep it up!
Like just about every other person in this country, I love a good holiday weekend, and the 4th is one of my favorites. Everyone is so jazzed up about freedom and summer and fun times, you just can't help but get into the spirit!
Today, Aida and I are hanging around the house and getting a few things ready for dinner. One of my college friends is coming over for dinner with her girlfriend. We're going to hit up the pool in the afternoon, then have some delicious burgers and sangria for dinner. Millie, meanwhile, will lose her mind, because Auntie Laura is the person she loves the second most in this world, surpassed only by Grandpa Gary. Matt and I are a very distant third compared to those two.
Saturday, I get the morning to myself and I'm going to treat myself to a pedicure. Who knows, I may go a little crazy and have some lunch and a margarita while I'm at it! Or, I might just have to meet Matt and Aida for lunch at Señor Ramon's Taqueria. It's a new place in Leesburg that is AMAHZING. I never want to get tacos anywhere else.
Sunday is swim class in the morning, followed by brunch with one of Matt's friends from high school. At some point, I'm sure we will also grill out with the neighbors, because Aida needs to see her BFF Elizabeth!
I'm also determined to have smores at some point, as well as those cheap fireworks you can buy at the grocery store--Matt has never had either one of those things! I know. I am as shocked as you are. (Sidenote, he has had smores, just hasn't had them roasted over an open fire, which is really the only way to do it.)
Those are our big holiday weekend plans! What are you up to, friends?
